Our past, present and future!

In the beginning…

Grassroots Earworm started out six months ago at the start of 2025, with the aim of connecting lesser-known Australian music with new listeners. 

We kicked off with our two new-release playlists (FRESH OUT THE GATE and HEAR IT FIRST) which are now thriving, as well as four generational playlists (which are currently on hiatus).

We also feature music videos, album reviews, and music recommendations right here on the blog!

Coming soon…

We've been working hard behind the scenes to put together an extensive series of genre playlists. These will be launching in the weeks to come, and will bring you the best of the music we've featured according to genre.

The genre playlists are part of a bigger project we're working towards - but that one's still under wraps for now. We can't wait to finally share it with you though!

We neither request nor accept payment for any kind of coverage or playlist inclusion. Every song we include on a playlist is purely because we think our listeners will love it. Every album and artist we review is purely because we think you should know about them. As such, we are proudly unbiased and proudly supporting indie artists without charging them any money.
