HOT BUTTERY GOODNESS

Butter is the secret to great music!

What's in a name? Because we couldn't help noticing how many of our favourite artists' names begin with the word butter! In case you think we're exaggerating, here are six fantastic buttery Australian artists for you.

BUTTERCATS

This Brisbane band combines elements of funk, R&B, and dance to create a sound they describe as ‘heavy disco.’ Think Parcels crossed with the Bee Gees and you've got some idea. The aim of their music is to remind us all that we are alive and born to dance!

BUTTERMELLO

‘In every song you can feel the sun on your face, and the bubbles of beer cruising down your throat.’ That's a pretty apt description of the endlessly sunny sounds of this Sunshine Coast band. With a ream of singles under their belt, they're set to release their first EP this year.

BUTTER

The simply named ‘Butter’ is in fact a 7-piece band from Fremantle, playing a blend of hip-hop and neo-soul featuring trumpet and sax. Sometimes sounding a bit like Gorillaz, and always sounding fresh, original and inventive.
