MUSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Yung Maynie, Better Days

An imaginative NIDA-produced video that sees Yung Maynie enter the maze on the back of his cereal box to navigate a life-size labyrinth.

Hailing from Melbourne, Maynie is a Kaurna and Narungga man with Māori heritage from Ngāti Kahungunu.

Following a successful career in the NRL, Maynie retired from professional sport to pursue music full-time, bringing the same discipline, drive and resilience from the field into his creative journey.

‘(Better Days is) one of the more personal songs I’ve written to date, and personally one of my favourites,’ Maynie says.

He describes filming the video with the NIDA team as a ‘mad experience.’

‘Gave a whole new dimension to the song,’ he says.
