The early emerging trends!
Australia has voted for hundreds of homegrown songs within the first two weeks since voting opened for the 2025 HOMEGROWN HUNDRED - and some tracks are already emerging as front-runners! (more about that below).
With still more than five weeks left to vote, we've already received votes from every Australian state and territory, plus a handful from other countries (yes, you can vote from anywhere in the world!).
And in processing the votes, we've identified three distinct types of voters - which type are you?
- The ‘Post-Hottest 100 voter’ - you've got your Hottest 100 voting done first, then whacked the same votes into the HOMEGROWN HUNDRED (subbing in Aussie tracks where needed!)
- The ‘Totally Grassroots voter’ - you've carefully curated a list of songs by awesome lesser-known artists that you came across through Grassroots Earworm and/or through your local music scene
- The ‘One-Eyed Fan’ voter - you've put your favourite track in the #1 spot, and that's it. No other songs, no other artists. Now that's devotion!
And yes, we promised we'd mention more about early front-runners! So, without giving too much away, let's just say that the current five top-polling tracks come from two Brisbane artists, two Melbourne artists, and a Perth artist…
But of course things can change very easily, with voting open until Tuesday, January 27, 2026!
