BOOK REVIEW: Forgotten, by Casey Nott

Imagine waking up in hospital after a serious accident to find the last ten years of your memory are completely gone…

This is what happens to forty-year-old Ava Durant, who wakes believing she is still thirty, utterly unaware of everything that has happened over the past decade.

And a hell of a lot has happened. Relationships have changed, loved ones have disappeared, and her life looks nothing like she remembers it.

For starters, she has a new husband - which is pretty problematic when she can't remember why she ditched her first husband for this man.

But the even bigger bombshell is meeting her son, of whom she has no memory at all.

All she wants to do is speak to her dear mother for advice, only to be met with the crushing news that she has passed away years ago.

You will ache with pain for Ava as she cycles through grief and confusion, and tries to figure out who she really is.

There's also an intriguing legal mystery subplot, and the overarching question: who can Ava really trust?

Forgotten is an emotive and thought-provoking read that will have you hooked to the last page.
