The artist aiming for 52 releases in one year
Gippsland surf-punk CHEAP-SKATE has set himself a lofty goal for the year, pledging to release new music every single week of 2026 in a project dubbed 'CHEAP-YEAR.'
So far, he's on track, having kicked off the year with the EP GROM, followed by a new single every week since.

‘Every quarter the singles will be compiled into volumes,’ CHEAP-SKATE says.
'For volume one, I’ve been going back through old demos… I’ve churned through all the demos so now I’m in the studio every day writing new stuff!"
He's no stranger to finding novel ways of making and promoting music, including a recent comedic appearance on Australian Idol.

CHEAP-SKATE's array of talents and amazing work ethic see him DIY almost every aspect of his work, including recording in his home studio and designing his own artwork.
“I somehow still feel like I'm not doing enough though,” he laughs.

But he's going to be doing an awful lot to push out one release per week for the entire year.
‘I also figured this was me putting in my 10,000 hours to hone the craft of being a good musician,’ he says.
