HOMEGROWN HUNDRED - YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Guidelines and FAQ

Here are the full guidelines and frequently asked questions regarding the 2025 HOMEGROWN HUNDRED.

About

What is the HOMEGROWN HUNDRED?

The HOMEGROWN HUNDRED is a public-voted music countdown conducted by Grassroots Earworm for the first time in 2025. It's kind of like triple j's Hottest 100, but with music by Australian artists only. It also includes only original songs, and is not aimed at a particular demographic, but at music-lovers of all ages.

How does it work?

Music fans vote for their favourite songs using this form during the voting period, which runs from Wednesday, December 3, 2025 through to Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

A countdown of the top-voted 100 songs is then revealed on the Grassroots Earworm Instagram over the period of Friday, January 30, 2026 through to Sunday, February 1, 2026, and a HOMEGROWN HUNDRED playlist released.

What songs are eligible?

Original songs by Australian artists, released between December 1, 2024 and November 30, 2025.

There are no longlists or shortlists to choose from, and no restrictions on genre or how well-known the artist is. So you can vote for whatever you love, from The Kid LAROI to The Belair Lip Bombs to your 14-year-old cousin's debut single.

Who can vote?

Anyone! There are no demographic restrictions on voters.

You can, however, only vote once.

When can I vote?

Voting opens on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 9am, and closes on Tuesday,  January 27, 2026 at 5pm.

How do I vote?

Using this form, you can list up to ten songs you want to vote for, in descending order of preference, starting with your absolute favourite #1 song. The order is important because the higher you rank a song, the more points it gets!

When is the countdown?

The countdown will be revealed via a series of posts on our Instagram running from Friday, January 30, 2026 to Sunday, February 1, 2026.

We will then of course provide you with a complete HOMEGROWN HUNDRED playlist!

Do I have to vote for ten songs? I only want to vote for a couple.

You can vote for anywhere between one and ten songs.
