AUSIFY YOUR ALGORITHM

Helping spread Australian music

Aussie musos Thelma Plum and Keli Holiday are fronting the call to ‘ausify your algo’ - a new campaign to help promote the discovery and spread of Australian music.

Music Australia's new Ausify campaign, which is platform-agnostic, encourages listeners to like, follow, share, and add Aussie artists' songs to playlists.

The idea behind the campaign is: the more people seek out local artists, the more they can change the shape of their algorithms to favour the Aussie music scene.

“We are launching #Ausify to encourage Australians to take back control of their algorithms and feed them with local sounds,” Director of Music Australia Millie Millgate said.

"Australian artists can be overshadowed by global content, although together we can all help change that. Every local artist you seek out, play, follow, save, share, request and see live helps our musicians rise. By choosing Australian music, we can shift our algorithms, support our artists, and help our local scene thrive.”

Launching in line with Ausmusic Month, the Ausify website will roll through an A–Z of local talent day by day throughout November, acting as a way to discover new artists. You can also get involved by following and sharing Aussie music content.

Our recommendation? Listen to our new-release playlists HEAR IT FIRST and FRESH OUT THE GATE when they update (they update on alternate fortnights, so every Monday there's a new batch to check out!) AND be sure to follow artists you like the sound of, and to like and add your fave tracks to playlists - and maybe even get to a live show if you discover a band you really like!
