A RICH AND SUMPTUOUS AFFAIR

ALBUM REVIEW: Isy Cappo, Somewhere in the Lost and Found

Sydney artist Isy Cappo weaves together contemporary R&B, neo-soul, dance pop, and funk to bring us her debut EP Somewhere in the Lost and Found.

This album is rich and sumptuous, with tracks to chill to, tracks to dance to, and tracks to make you feel sexy.

This record pulls you in from the very first notes and begins by immersing you in the fantasy world of All A Dream, a delicious blend of funk and soul. Just when we've been lulled into a dream, we're hit with the irresistible energy of Dancefloor, which is a real bop!

While track three Tell Me More is a smooth, seductive groove, the following track So Good takes it a step further, with the opening bars sounding like we could expect to hear Barry White's voice at any time. When we do hear the artist's vocals on this track, it's reminiscent of Meshell Ndgeocello, masterful and full of soul.

Say Less moves into a chill pop sound with underlying funk elements, before another dance track, Skimming The Surface, which ticks all the right boxes of an addictive pop tune.

The album concludes on a gentle note with High, a laid-back groove to bring us back down to earth.

Combining catchy songwriting with just the right blend of pop and R&B, this is an album we've got on loop repeat.
